“Sound of Metal” continues to rack up nominations during the 2021 film awards season. The movie is nominated for six Oscars at the 93rd Academy Awards, and you can watch it now on Prime Video.
The Amazon original film follows Ruben (Riz Ahmed), a drummer and recovering drug addict who’s known for touring with the heavy metal band Blackgammon. But when Ruben begins to experience hearing loss, his future as a musician is put into jeopardy. To help cope with the situation, he checks into a deaf community shelter for addiction.
“Sound of Metal” received 2021 Oscar nominations for best picture, best actor in a leading role (Ahmed), best actor in a supporting role (Paul Raci), best original screenplay, best sound, and best film editing. The movie has a 96% “Certified Fresh” rating on review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes.

“Sound of Metal” is now streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. A number of independent theaters across the country are also offering screenings for people who prefer to see it on the big screen.
If you want to watch the movie at home, you’ll need to sign up for an account with Prime Video. The streaming service offers roughly 24,000 movies and over 2,100 shows.
