How to play Xbox One games on your PC in 2 ways, without having to buy the games again

If you ever wanted to play your Xbox One games on your PC, you’re in luck. Many Xbox One games can be played easily on a Windows 10 computer. This is great for homes that share one Xbox console, since you won’t have to compete to use the singular console.

There are two ways to play Xbox One games on your computer. The first method is through a service called Xbox Play Anywhere. The second option requires you to stream the game through Windows 10, which will require a constant internet connection. Here’s a step-by-step guide for each method.

How to play Xbox One games on PC using Xbox Play Anywhere

If you already own a game that is included on the Xbox Play Anywhere list, you can play it on your PC for no additional charge, and you can sync your game data between your PC and Xbox One.

1. Go to the Xbox Play Anywhere website and log into your Microsoft account.

2. Head to this page and scroll through the list of games, and then click on the one you want to play. Keep in mind that if you don’t already own the game, you’ll need to purchase it.

How to play Xbox One games on PC via streaming to Windows 10

If the game you want to play remotely isn’t included on the Xbox Play Anywhere list, your only other option is to play it via streaming.

To do this, your PC and Xbox One will need to be on the same internet connection. You’ll also need to make sure that both systems stay connected to the internet – if you lose your connection, you’ll lose the stream.

You should also make sure that both devices are fully updated. If there are any updates pending, install them.

1. On your Xbox One’s Home screen, press the Xbox button on the controller.

2. Navigate to the Profile & System tab, and select the “Settings” option.

How to gameshare on your Xbox One to share your Xbox Live account and game library with friends

The Xbox gaming console series is known for its gamesharing features. Gamesharing allows you and a friend to share each other’s game libraries, as well as each other’s Xbox Live Gold memberships, including Game Pass. It’s a great way to play a wider array of games on a budget.

To take advantage of the Xbox One’s game sharing features, you will need two Xbox One consoles. You will also need the login information for both your Xbox Live account and your game share partner’s Xbox Live account.

How to gameshare on an Xbox One

1. Turn on your Xbox One and sign in to your Xbox Live account.

2. Press the Xbox button and navigate to the far-left side of the menu. Select “Add new” and press the “A” button.

How to gameshare on Xbox One
You can add your friend’s account in the same way you would add a family member’s or roommate’s account to an Xbox One that is shared by all members of your household.

3. Using your controller, type in your friend’s Xbox Live account information (email address, then password) and press “A” on your controller.

4. After you finish reading the privacy statement, select “Next” and press “A” on the controller, then follow the instructions on the next screen to set the preferences for your friend’s account.

5. Press the Xbox button again and navigate to the far-left side of the menu. Select the account you just added and press “A” on the controller, select “Sign in,” and press “A” again.

6. Press the Xbox button and navigate to the far-right side of the menu. Select “Settings” and press “A” on the controller.

7. On the next screen, select “Personalization,” then select “My home Xbox” and press “A.”

8. Select “Make this my home Xbox” and press A again.

How to gameshare on Xbox One
Adjusting the settings for your home Xbox is the key to gamesharing successfully. You can add your friend’s account to your Xbox One, but you won’t be able to gameshare until you set up your Xbox One as your friend’s home Xbox, and vice versa.

9. Repeat these steps, only this time, add your Xbox Live account information to your friend’s Xbox One, and set their Xbox One as your home Xbox.

Once you have added each other’s accounts to your respective Xbox One consoles and properly set up your corresponding home Xboxes, you should be able to access each other’s game Libraries and Xbox Live Gold perks.

Tips for gamesharing

  • Gamesharing is limited to two people at a time, so you won’t be able to add another person into the mix unless you stop game sharing with your original gameshare partner.
  • Only gameshare with someone you trust. Your account information is sensitive, and you don’t want it to end up in the hands of someone who might use it for nefarious purposes.
  • Gamesharing only works with digital copies of games. Unfortunately, you can’t gameshare with physical copies, because they can only be used with one Xbox One at a time.

How to connect an Xbox One controller to your iPhone to play games and more

  • To connect an Xbox One controller to your iPhone, you’ll need to have upgraded your phone to at least iOS 13.
  • You may want to use an Xbox One controller to play certain games from the Apple Arcade.
  • In order to connect your Xbox One Controller, it’ll need to be a Bluetooth-enabled controller, so you can connect it like any other Bluetooth device.
  • Visit Business Insider’s Tech Reference library for more stories.

Thanks to recent iPhone updates, several Apple devices, including the iPhone, now allow users to use the Xbox One controller to play certain games. And the 2020 iOS 14 update added even more controllers, including the Xbox Elite and Adaptive Controllers.

Although not every game supports the use of controllers, several of the more popular games on the App Store allow it, including nearly every game in the Apple Arcade.

Pairing your Xbox One controller to your iPhone is extremely straightforward. Here’s how to do it.

How to connect an Xbox One controller to your iPhone

Before you can connect the controller, you need to figure out if your Xbox One controller has Bluetooth capabilities.

A Bluetooth-capable Xbox One controller has plastic around the Xbox button that matches the rest of the controller’s color. Non-Bluetooth controllers instead have plastic that matches the bumpers, which house the RB and LB buttons.

The wireless controller (pictured left) will match the primary color of the overall controller, while a non-Bluetooth one (pictured right) will match the black color found in the bumper section.

Now, if you have an Xbox One controller with Bluetooth:

1. Hold down the Xbox One logo, located on the top center of the controller, until its backlight starts flashing. If you’re using a controller already paired with an Xbox One console, hold the small button located in between the Xbox One bumper buttons.

2. Grab your iPhone and open the Settings app.

3. Tap “Bluetooth.” It’s one of the first options.

4. Once you’re in the Bluetooth menu, you should see a device appropriately named “Xbox One Wireless Controller.”

Image 2
Make sure the controller is not paired with anything else, or otherwise the controller will not appear.

5. Tap your controller on the list, and your iPhone will ask you if you want to pair the device.

Image 3
Once the device is paired, you can start using it.

6. If you’re done using your controller and want to disconnect it, go to the Bluetooth menu again, tap the small “i” icon next to the device’s name, and then tap “Disconnect.”

Pairing and unpairing your controller on your iPhone is extremely simple.

“Cyberpunk 2077” released on December 10.

  • The hotly-anticipated game “Cyberpunk 2077” launched on December 10.
  • Players on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 have expressed discontent with the game, encountering bugs, glitches, and poor graphics.
  • CD Projekt Red, the game studio behind “Cyberpunk 2077,” is now offering refunds to players on those consoles.
  • “We should have paid more attention to making it play better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One,” CD Projekt Red said Monday.
  • Visit Business Insider’s homepage for more stories.

The creators of “Cyberpunk 2077,” one of the most hotly anticipated games of 2020, are now offering refunds to disgruntled players.

The game launched on December 10 on Sony and Microsoft’s new consoles – Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 – as well as last-generation consoles, the Xbox One X and the PlayStation 4.

As soon as the game launched, players started complaining about bugs, poor graphics, and faulty game mechanics – particularly on last-generation consoles. On Monday morning CD Projekt Red, the studio behind “Cyberpunk 2077,” issued an apology, and offered refunds to players on those consoles.

“We should have paid more attention to making it play better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One,” the company said.

It said it hoped players would stick with the game while it fixed up the gameplay, but that it would offer refunds to those who requested it.

Players who purchased the game digitally can go through Xbox and PlayStation’s refund process, while people who bought physical copies should request the refund via the store where they purchased the disc, it said.

“Should this not be possible, please contact us at helpmerefund@cdprojektred.com and we will do our best to help you. Starting from today, you can contact us for a week up to December 21, 2020,” the company said.

CD Projekt Red said it would be rolling out updates to improve the game, and would release two big patches in January and February 2021.

“Cyberpunk 2077” was originally supposed to launch in April of this year, but its release date was pushed back three times.
