Google’s Chromebook laptops have come a long way since they were introduced back in 2011. Nowadays, Chromebooks offer some of the best values in computing – offering terrific performance at affordable prices.

Of course, Chromebooks aren’t for everybody. Chromebooks don’t run on a traditional operating system, like Windows or macOS. Instead, a Chromebook is essentially a laptop made for browsing the web and running apps. This means that certain niche tasks are difficult, or downright impossible, to do, like 3D editing.

However, for those who need their computer for basic tasks like e-mail, browsing, and streaming movies, Chromebooks are worth considering, especially for the price.

Better still, we regularly see discounts on these already-affordable, Chrome-based machines. Here, we’ve gathered some of the best deals available.

  • We’ve rounded up the best headphone deals for April 2021.
  • Right now, the Apple AirPods Pro are on sale for $199 – that’s $50 off their full price.

Table of Contents: Masthead Sticky

A great pair of headphones can change the way you listen to music. Sure, the random earbuds that you have in your bottom drawer may do the job just fine for some, but if you want to hear nuanced details, well-rounded bass, or a sparkling high-end, you’ll need something a little more versatile.

Of course, quality headphone can get pricey, but there are plenty of good discounts out there if you know where to look. And that’s exactly why we put together this guide for the best headphone deals that you can take advantage of right now. We update this list regularly, so be sure to check back for all the latest deals.

Here are the best headphone deals in April 2021

Over-ear headphone deals

sony wh1000 xm4 man at cafe

Over-ear headphones may not be the most portable headphones out there, but they generally sound a whole lot better than in-ear headphones, thanks to their larger drivers. They also boast long battery lives and plenty of padding for a comfortable fit. Some models even include smart features — like integration with your digital assistant, noise cancellation, and more.

On-ear headphone deals

Beats Solo 3 headphones

On-ear headphones are a good compromise between portability and sound-quality. Sure, you won’t be able to fit them in your pocket, but they’re light-weight enough to easily carry around in a bag or backpack without noticing much of a difference. Unlike over-ear headphones, on-ear headphones rest on your outer ear, but good ones don’t do so uncomfortably.

In-ear headphone deals

Looking for something portable that you can easily put into your pocket? In-ear headphones are the way to go. We have technically split the in-ear headphones into two categories — so if you’re looking for modern true wireless headphones, skip ahead to the next section.

The deals below are for wired in-ear headphones, which connect through a cable to your listening device, and wireless in-ear headphones which connect via Bluetooth to your listening device. Unlike true wireless headphones, however, regular wireless in-ear headphones still feature wires to connect each earbud together.

Perhaps you want to avoid wires all together with a pair of true wireless headphones. These headphones feature separate earbuds that connect wirelessly to each other and to your listening device. A good example of true wireless headphones are Apple’s AirPods Pro — which are on sale right now for $199.

How to shop for headphones

Bose 700 headphones lifestyle in office

If you are in the market for a new pair of headphones, it’s worth figuring out exactly what kind of headphones you want. The first step is to determine whether you want in-ear headphones, on-ear headphones, or over-ear headphones.

In-ear headphones are more portable than any other headphones, while over-ear headphones are the most comfortable and deep-sounding. On-ear headphones are often considered a good compromise between the two. If you hate wires, you could also get true wireless in-ear headphones, like AirPods, which cut the cables completely.

It’s also worth looking into a few headphone brands. If you’re an audiophile who wants the best-sounding headphones, companies like Sennheiser, Klipsch, and Shure are worth considering. If you want incredible noise-cancelling headphones or those that work great for day-to-day use, consider those from Sony or Bose. And, if you want plenty of bass and tight integration with your Apple products, look into headphones from Beats or Apple itself.

Once you’ve determined the type of headphones you want, you’ll want to figure out what your budget is. These days, you can get solid headphones for under $100, but as with anything, you get what you pay for — and the more you’re willing to spend, the better headphones you’ll be able to get.

To put it bluntly, Samsung makes a lot of phones. They have a 5G phone for just about every budget – from the super premium Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 to the entry level Galaxy A 51 5G.

The best Samsung Galaxy deals happening right now:

Samsung Galaxy S21

Galaxy S21 (medium, Preferred: Best Buy)Galaxy S21 (medium, Preferred: B&H)Galaxy S21 (medium, Preferred: Verizon)

The Galaxy S21 is the smallest of Samsung’s new flagship phones, with a 6.2-inch 2400 x 1080 resolution display. It also includes 8 gigabytes (GB) of RAM, a 10-megapixel (MP) front camera, and three rear cameras: a 12-MP wide, 12-MP ultra wide, and a 64-MP telephoto lens. It is available with either 128GB or 256GB of storage and starts at $799.99.

We praised the S21 for its attractive, easy-to-hold design, long battery life, and great camera – though we thought the low-light photos could be a bit better. Overall, this is a great phone and a particularly good choice for those who want a new Android phone with the latest capabilities, but do not need a massive screen.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus

Galaxy S21 Plus (medium, Preferred: Best Buy)Galaxy S21 Plus (medium, Preferred: Samsung)

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus has all of the same features of the Galaxy S21, but comes with a bigger 6.7-inch screen. The S21 Plus also comes with either 128GB or 256GB of storage, though its starting price is usually $999.99, making it $200 more expensive than the Galaxy S21.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

Galaxy S21 Ultra (medium, Preferred: Best Buy)Galaxy S21 Ultra (medium, Preferred: Samsung)

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is the largest and most feature-rich S21 model. It has a 6.8-inch 3200 x 1440 resolution curved display with 12GB or 16GB of RAM, support for Samsung’s S Pen stylus, a 40-MP front camera, and four rear cameras. You have the option of getting it with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage, and it usually starts at $1,199.99.

Like the S21, we found the Galaxy S21 Ultra to have a great screen, a solid build and design, long battery life, and a great camera. However, we found it to feel slightly heavier than the S21 and expensive – especially since it did little to differentiate itself from the middle-of-the-road S21 Plus. The S21 Ultra might be the best fit for camera enthusiasts who feel they are willing to pay a premium for a four camera setup.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20

Galaxy Note 20 (medium, Preferred: Best Buy)Galaxy Note 20 (medium, Preferred: Amazon)

The Galaxy Note 20 and the Note 20 Ultra were released in August of 2020 and are the latest in Samsung’s distinctive note-taking devices. Both the Note 20 and The Note 20 Ultra are 5G ready and feature the S-Pen, Samsung’s digital stylus that seamlessly tucks away into the bottom corner of the bezels.

Users can take notes in the Samsung Notes app and watch them sync in real time with Microsoft Outlook and OneNote. Notes can also be exported to Microsoft Word and Powerpoint for smooth integration and productivity.

The base-level Galaxy Note 20 typically retails for $999.99 and is hard to recommend at that price. The 60Hz refresh rate and plastic casing make this a tough sell in the premium market.

However, this is still a solid phone and could be a good pickup at the right price for someone who loves writing notes by hand.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra

Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (medium, Preferred: Samsung)Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (medium, Preferred: B&H)Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (medium, Preferred: Best Buy)Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (medium, Preferred: Amazon)

The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra offers a more well-rounded experience than its smaller sibling. It has a bigger curved display than the Note 20 and includes a 120Hz refresh rate at 1080p, which drops down to 60Hz at 1440p. It also has more RAM – 12GB – and comes with the option for 512GB storage. The Ultra – which normally starts at $1,299.99 – also has three rear cameras, including a 108MP wide lens.

We found the Ultra to be powerful, with a premium design, a great screen and good battery life. We wished the full 1440p was not limited to a 60Hz refresh rate, while the curved edges of the screen made it difficult to write with the S-Pen. We would not recommend getting this phone at full price, but the Note 20 Ultra has a lot to offer note takers if it can be had for under $1,000.

The Galaxy S20 FE

Galaxy S20 FE (medium, Preferred: Amazon)Galaxy S20 FE (medium, Preferred: B&H)

The Galaxy S20 FE, or Fan Edition, is a pared-down version of last year’s S20 lineup. It was released in October and offers many premium features – such as 5G, a crisp and large screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage – at a non-premium price of $699.99.

It still has three rear cameras, though they are not as powerful as some of the more premium Galaxy models. The back of the phone is plastic instead of metal, but it still feels premium and durable. We found this phone to be a good choice for most people due to its solid design, great battery life, nice screen and fair price.

Galaxy Z Fold 2

Galaxy Z Fold 2 (medium, Preferred: Samsung)Galaxy Z Fold 2 (medium, Preferred: Amazon)

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is Samsung’s most expensive and ambitious phone to date. Its distinguishing feature is its large, folding display. The main screen is 7.6 inches with 2,208 x 1,768 resolution, while the cover screen is 6.2 inches with 2,260 x 816 resolution.

Samsung recently lowered the price on the Galaxy Z Fold 2 by $200 -from $1999.99 to $1799.99 – but it’s still pricey. Unlike its poorly reviewed predecessor, we found the Galaxy Z Fold 2 to be the most promising foldable device on the market.

We liked its vibrant, tablet-sized screen, its long battery life, and excellent speakers, but found its design to be a little awkward in phone-mode. It also lacked any waterproof rating, which we found disappointing for a phone this expensive. Ultimately, this is a device that is really only for those who are willing to pay a premium to try out the latest in foldable screen technology, but these discounts make it a little more palatable.

Galaxy Z Flip 5G

Galazy Z Flip 5G (medium, Preferred: Best Buy)

The Galaxy Z Flip 5G is Samsung’s attempt at modernizing the classic flip phone. The Flip features a 6.9-inch foldable glass display- unlike the plastic display found on the Motorola Razr – as well as three 12MP rear cameras, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus processor. The Flip 5G launched in August at $1,450, but is now only available in a 256GB model that is regularly priced at $1,199.99.

We found the non-5G version of the Galaxy Z Flip to bring something new to the smartphone experience, while also functioning well enough as a standard smartphone. However, we thought the Flip’s cover screen was a little too thin and awkward when it was closed, and wished it was waterproof. The price of Flip makes it, like the Galaxy Fold 2, a niche item for those wanting a new – but not yet perfected – flexible smartphone.

Galaxy A71 5G

Galaxy A71 5G (medium, Preferred: Best Buy)

The Galaxy A71 5G was released in June of 2020 as a lower-priced option for those looking to get a 5G phone without all of the more expensive features. It comes with a 6.7-inch 1080p OLED screen, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. It has four rear cameras with a 64MP main lens, a 32MP front camera, and is priced at $599. It has good battery life, but lacks the ability to charge wirelessly. Ultimately, this is a good choice for those looking for a solid, yet basic, 5G phone.

Galaxy A 51 5G

Galaxy A51 5G (medium, Preferred: Best Buy)

The Galaxy A 51 5G was released in April of 2020 and is smaller and slightly older than the Galaxy A 71. It is priced at $499.99 and has a 6.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 48MP four-lens rear camera, along with a 32MP front camera.

We found it to have a great screen, decent battery life, and nice cameras, but wondered if the phone compromised a little too much on overall performance. This is a great entry level 5G phone, but one that might feel slow and dated sooner rather than later.

Cyber Monday is the biggest shopping day of the year – here’s what we expect to see

2021 Cyber Monday 2x1
Cyber Monday lands on November 29 this year, but shoppers don’t need to wait until then to save.

Cyber Monday 2021, like Prime Day and Black Friday, is one of the most hotly anticipated shopping days of the year. Below, we provide answers to frequently asked questions regarding the huge deal holiday, plus the best discounts available right now.

Table of Contents: Masthead Sticky

When is Cyber Monday?

Cyber Monday occurs the following Monday after Black Friday every year. In 2021, the online-heavy shopping event landed on Monday, November 29.

As a continuation of sorts to Black Friday, Cyber Monday gives shoppers another opportunity to save on tech, home goods, clothing, and more that you might’ve missed while digesting Thanksgiving dinner.

What time does Cyber Monday start?

Cyber Monday officially begins at 12 a.m. EST on Monday, November 29.

What is Cyber Monday?

Cyber Monday began as the online version of Black Friday, where online retailers offered big discounts to match their brick-and-mortar counterparts. Now, Cyber Monday is the biggest shopping day of the year, surpassing even Black Friday in terms of revenue and sales.

The “holiday” was created in 2005 as the online version of the brick-and-mortar-focused Black Friday. Previously, the main differentiation between Black Friday and Cyber Monday was that Black Friday focused on in-store sales and Cyber Monday on online sales. But as shopping habits have increasingly favored the internet, shoppers can look forward to a very online-focused Cyber Monday and Black Friday.

Cyber Monday offers a great opportunity to save on all your holiday gifts.

How long do Cyber Monday sales last?

Though Cyber Monday sales once only took place on Monday, we’ve seen them extend to longer and longer durations, with more than a few lasting until the rest of the week.

What’s better, Black Friday or Cyber Monday?

With most shoppers increasingly shopping online, the debate on which shopping holiday is particularly moot. Both events will be held predominantly online, and more than a few deals overlap. In fact, many Black Friday deals become Cyber Monday deals when the dates change.

If possible, shoppers should shop on both holidays. We’ve seen different products receive better discounts on each day, and the deals that each retailer offers will vary.

Generally speaking, consumers shopping for big-ticket items, such as laptops, TVs, and kitchen appliances, can expect more opportunities on Black Friday. But for shoppers looking for last year’s models, smart home gadgets, digital subscriptions, and gift cards will likely find more luck during Cyber Monday.

What should I buy during Cyber Monday?

If a retailer offers Black Friday deals, it’s a near guarantee that it will offer Cyber Monday deals, too. Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart are some noteworthy retailers that we know will participate in the shopping event.

We will likely see massive discounts on some of our favorite direct-to-consumer products during Cyber Monday, such as retail startups like Leesa and Brooklinen. For some, Cyber Monday (or Cyber Week) will be one of the few times of the year when their products see major markdowns.

Will there be Cyber Monday shipping delays?

Shipping delays and shopping holidays are inextricably linked, and this year will unlikely be any different. Experts suggest that consumers may see slower shipping speeds, during Cyber Monday, Black Friday, and the weeks following.

To help you avoid the shipping crunch and get your stuff sooner, several retailers, including Walmart, Target, and Best Buy, offer in-store pickup and contactless curbside pickup. This means shoppers can grab their orders at a nearby location, provided that the retailer has it in stock.

How we select the best Cyber Monday deals

  • We only choose products that meet our high standard of coverage, and that we’ve either used ourselves or researched carefully.
  • We will compare the prices among top retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart and only include the deals that are better than all others offered (not including promotional discounts that come from using certain credit cards).
  • All deals will be at least 20% off, with the occasional exception for products that are rarely discounted or provide an outsized value.

The original and standard AirPods with Charging Case are the base and cheapest AirPods you can buy. You get the regular AirPods wireless earbuds and a charging case that charges via a Lightning cable, the same cable you use to charge your iPhone.

The AirPods have a five-hour battery life, and the case stores 24 hours of battery charge. A quick 15-minute charge in the case gives them an extra three hours of listening time. These are not sweat- or water-resistant – you’ll have to check out the AirPods Pro below if that’s important to you. You can read the full AirPods review here.

Contrary to what MSRP would like you to think, AirPods typically only sell for $129 across online retailers – a good $30 less than listed. During Black Friday and Cyber Monday we saw them fall as low as $99, but that kind of promotion is rare. Below are the best deals available right now.

AirPods with Wireless Charging Case deals

AirPods with Wireless Charging Case (medium, Preferred: Target)

The AirPods with Wireless Charging Case are identical to the 2nd-gen AirPods with Charging Case, except the charging case can be charged wirelessly as well as via a Lightning cable. That means you can charge the wireless charging case on a wireless charging pad that uses the Qi wireless charging standard. Thankfully, that means you can charge the AirPods’ wireless charging case on pretty much any wireless charging pad, including the pad you already use for your iPhone, if you already use one. You can read the full AirPods with Wireless Charging Case review here.

Though they’re listed for more, the typical price for the Wireless Charging Case AirPods is considerably lower than suggested, as is the trend with Apple gear. Typical price is more commonly $160 across online retailers. During Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we saw them fall as low as $140; it’s unlikely they’ll drop that low again outside of short-lived discounts from one or two retailers. Below, we’ve listed the best deals available now.

The AirPods Pro are Apple’s highest-end AirPods, and they’re also our pick for the best wireless earbuds for Apple fans. They have a shorter stem than the original AirPods design, and they have an in-ear design that fits more securely in more ears using tips of three different sizes – if you’ve ever had difficulty keeping Apple’s earbuds in your ear, these are the solution. The wireless charging case is also wider than the non-pro charging cases.

Despite their smaller size, they come with active noise cancellation, and they sound a little better than the regular non-pro AirPods. Battery life with noise cancellation enabled isn’t as long as the regular AirPods, but it’s still pretty good (4.5 hours versus 5 hours). If the AirPods Pro run out of battery, a quick 15-minute charge in the case gives you an extra three hours of listening time. The AirPods Pro come with a wireless charging case that holds a 24-hour total charge for the AirPods.

The AirPods Pro are also sweat and water-resistant, whereas the regular non-pro AirPods are not. You can read the full AirPods Pro review here.

A pair is listed for $249, but typical price more commonly hovers around $220 across online retailers like Walmart and Costco. We’ve seen them drop lower during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but if you need a pair now, don’t settle for paying any more than $220. Below, we’ve listed the best deals available now.

If you’re an Apple aficionado looking for the best audio you can find, the AirPods Max are for you. Audio from the AirPods Max is crisp, clear, and open; their noise-cancellation is powerful. They’re surely pricier than other headphones with similar performance from Sony and Bose, but the AirPods Max are a huge listening upgrade from the AirPods and AirPods Pro for iOS users. You can read our full review of the AirPods Max here.

Since they were only announced just over a month ago, not many deals have surfaced for these headphones. The typical price is still the full $549, and we have yet to see any price drops across online retailers. Right now, buying a pair is difficult, as they’re largely out of stock, or backordered.

AirPods Max deals

AirPods Max being worn

Airpods Max (medium)

A great pair of headphones can change the way you listen to music. Sure, the random earbuds that you have in your bottom drawer may do the job just fine for some, but if you want to hear nuanced details, well-rounded bass, or a sparkling high-end, you’ll need something a little more versatile.

These days, you can get solid headphones for under $100, but as with anything, you get what you pay for – and the more you’re willing to spend, the better headphones you’ll be able to get.

Of course, you don’t necessarily have to spend as much as you normally would if you can find a great deal. And that’s exactly why we put together this guide for the best headphone deals that you can take advantage of right now.

Here are the best headphone deals in March 2021

Over-ear headphones may not be the most portable headphones out there, but they generally sound a whole lot better than in-ear headphones, thanks to their larger drivers. They also boast long battery lives and plenty of padding for a comfortable fit. Some models even include smart features — like integration with your digital assistant, noise cancellation, and more.

The best times of year to buy a new laptop are back-to-school season and Black Friday

If you buy through our links, we may earn money from affiliate partners. Learn more.

Laptops 6
  • The best times to buy a laptop are during the back-to-school and holiday seasons.
  • That’s when you can expect big discounts on laptops of all prices and styles.
  • Check out our guide to the best laptop deals, best laptops, and best cheap laptops.

There’s a lot to consider when shopping for a new laptop, but making sure you’re buying at the right time can make a difference.

A laptop should generally last between three and five years, depending on your usage and the quality of the product. Many laptops come with a one-year warranty, while other companies offer additional years of coverage with paid plans. Of course, these laptops should continue to work even after the warranties expire, especially if they are well protected and treated properly.

Our team has years of experience covering and researching laptops and has figured out the best times to get great deals. Below, we break down the best times to shop for a laptop and what to look for when choosing one.

Table of Contents: Masthead Sticky

Back-to-school season

laptops students

The end of July through the middle of August is one of the best time periods of the year for laptop deals. Students of all ages are getting ready to go back to school, and this is the time when retailers try their best to cater to their needs.

Outlets like Staples, B&H, and Best Buy have online and in-store back-to-school deals, while Amazon —as well as  individual manufacturers such as  HP and Lenovo — have discounts on their websites.

Apple also jumps into the fray during this time of year, usually offering to throw in a free pair of headphones or Airpods with a qualifying student purchase. However, Apple does not tend to lower their already-discounted student pricing, instead opting to entice buyers with their extra offerings.

This means that it is sometimes possible to find more heavily discounted Apple laptops at other retailers, especially if you are willing to look at the previous years’ model.

Apple’s refurbished store also offers compelling discounts on older and sometimes even recent MacBook models. Check out some of the best deals in Apple’s refurbished store here.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday

Target Laptop Black Friday 2020 deals

The holiday shopping season is a great time to get deals on lots of different tech products, and laptops are no exception.

Retailers offer deals throughout this period and compete with each other to get the most sales. This means that they often adjust pricing on-the-fly to respond in realtime to competitors. Some stores also offer a price match guarantee, which means they will match the price of a competitor that’s selling the product for less.

Price tracking browser extensions like Honey and CamelCamelCamel can be especially useful during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. These sites can track a product’s price history on Amazon so that you can see if a  deal is really as good as it claims to be.

Those looking for a deal on a particular laptop model can try to avoid the time crunch and stock issues associated with holiday deals by setting an alert or keeping a browser page open  to make sure you know exactly when the product goes on sale.

Amazon Prime Day

Amazon prime driver

The Prime Day shopping event is full of deep discounts on the vast array of products available on Amazon, including laptops and other tech devices.

Amazon usually announces  the date of Prime Day only a few weeks before the event, though it has historically been held during the second week of July. Last year’s Prime Day occured in October and was an exception. Its usual  placement in July makes it a great time to kick off some of the back-to-school deals that otherwise arrive a little later in the month.

Once again, this is a great time to use a price tracker to make sure the deals you are seeing actually represent a big discount. It’s a good idea to check out the pricing of laptops during Prime Day even if you are not planning to immediately jump on a deal, as they can give you an idea of what to expect during the imminent back-to-school rush.

The laptop release cycle

Dell DellExperience at CES 2020

When shopping for a laptop, it’s also helpful to have a sense of when new models are released. Many manufacturers like Lenovo, HP, Acer, and Dell debut new laptops at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in early January.

These new releases typically start to hit the retail shelves by February through April, which means that there are some steep discounts on the previous year’s models. The Computex show in June is another time of year when laptop makers like Asus and MSI unveil new devices.

Apple, Microsoft, and Google don’t typically announce major products at these trade shows and instead hold their own events to reveal new laptops.

Apple’s MacBook launch cycle varies greatly from year to year. But  in recent years, it’s launched laptops in the spring, summer, and fall. during March and May, the summer in July, and the fall in October and November. Microsoft and Google tend to announce new products, including their respective Surface and Pixelbook laptops, in October.

Buying a laptop around the time that new ones are announced has its pros and cons. For those who don’t need the latest and greatest tech, it can be a great time to score discounts on older models as retailers clear out inventory to account for new releases.

But at the same time, it’s best to at least wait to learn more about what the newest model has to offer so that you can make a more informed buying decision.

How to buy a laptop

couple using a laptop

Choosing the right laptop often depends on individual needs. Here are some aspects to keep in mind when picking your next computer.

Operating System: A laptop’s operating system (OS) is its interface and software platform.. The most popular operating system is Microsoft Windows 10, which is found on essentially any new laptop that isn’t a MacBook or a Chromebook.

Apple’s computers run on its macOS software, which allows for tighter integration across other Apple products and services.

Chrome OS is the newest operating system on the market, but it’s already extremely popular. Chrome OS is a minimal operating system designed to work best with an internet connection. And of course, since it’s Google’s software, it comes with all of the search giant’s popular apps like Gmail and Google Docs built in.

Chrome OS loses a lot of its appeal without an internet connection, but you can download files for offline use and install apps from the Google Play Store.

Specs: The internal hardware of the laptop is often called the “specs” of the computer and will dictate how well the device performs various tasks. The processor (CPU) dictates the raw power of the device, while the memory (RAM) allows the computer to complete multiple tasks at once.

A graphics card (GPU) allows the computer to effectively render video and 3-D graphics. Many computers have an integrated GPU, which shares RAM with the overall system. Dedicated graphics cards come with their own RAM, which adds to the computer’s ability to process complex tasks.

Displays are measured in pixel density, with full 1080p being the standard. Some laptops offer 4K displays for even more clarity, while others offer brighter screens and enhanced color accuracy.

All of the components of the computer work together to determine the laptop’s battery life. For example, a dedicated graphics card needs more power than an integrated one, and a 4K display will also draw more power than a 1080p screen.

Both of these features could result in lower overall battery life. But it’s not just the hardware alone; battery life is all about how efficiently the system can handle the way everything works together. In general, it’s a good idea to look for a laptop that offers at least a full 8-hours on a single charge.

Size: Laptop sizes are determined by measuring the screen diagonally. These days, most laptops come in 13-inch and 15-inch varieties, though you might be able to find a 17-inch model once in a while. Laptops with 13-inch screens are usually considered to be the most portable, but they sometimes lack the power of bigger models.

Product Card (medium, Preferred: Amazon)Product Card (medium, Preferred: Amazon)

The Apple Watch Series 6 is the flagship model that comes loaded with all of Apple’s most advanced health features, its latest processor, a brighter always-on display, and fast charging.

Shoppers should expect to pay 15% less than retail for this model on a regular basis. Discounts over 20% are a little rarer.

Apple Watch SE deals

Product Card (medium)Product Card (medium)

The Apple Watch SE comes with many of the features you’d want from the Series 6, but lacks the new blood oxygen sensor, brighter always-on display, and fast charging. However, for most people, the Apple Watch SE may be the best option, since it costs over $100 less but can do almost everything the Series 6 can.

Like the Series 6, shoppers shouldn’t pay retail price for the SE. It sees a discount of 15% regularly.

Apple Watch Series 3 deals

Watch Series 3 (38mm, GPS) (medium, Preferred: Walmart)Watch Series 3 (38mm, GPS) (medium, Preferred: Amazon)

If price is your main concern, the older Apple Watch Series 3 is worth consideration. It is the cheapest option sold by the Apple Store. Even though it lacks more advanced features like an always-on screen and ECG monitoring, it offers the core Apple Watch experience at a much more accessible price.

The Series 3, while listed as $200, rarely leaves its discounted price of $169. Suffice it to say, shoppers should not buy it for more than $169, but should take advantage of any price below $169.

Table of Contents: Masthead Sticky

iPad (8th generation) deals

2020 iPad 10.2-inch (8th Gen, 128GB) (medium)

The eight-generation 10.2-inch iPad is the best option for most people with its balance of performance and value. Whether you’re buying your first iPad or upgrading from an older model, it’s a solid choice and comes in either 32GB or 128GB storage options. It has a clear and sharp 2,160 x 1,620-pixel resolution and an A12 processor capable of most apps and tasks. If you’re an artist or a fan of handwritten notes, it’s also compatible with the Apple Pencil.

We see deals on this iPad regularly throughout the year. More often than not, however, sales are limited to only one color or storage capacity, so if you see a good price on one that fits your needs, don’t hesitate to buy. These deals also tend to sell out fast. Street price varies for each option, but for the most part: it’s less than retail price.

iPad Air (4th Gen) deals

iPad Air (4th Gen., 64GB) (medium, Preferred: Amazon)

The 2020 iPad Air is powerful performance encased in an updated, premium design. It features sharper edges, an A14 chip (the same chip powering the iPhone 11 series), USB-C charging, and a Touch ID sensor on the power button. It supports the 2nd generation Apple Pencil, a great stylus for tablet drawing; the sharp 10.9-inch Liquid Retina True Tone Screen also sweetens the build for artists. The fourth-generation iPad Air comes in five colors: green, rose gold, sky blue, silver, and space gray.

Since it only launched in September 2020, deals for the latest iPad Air don’t surface often, or if they do, they’re pretty minimal discounts. At the moment, however, street price appears to be trending downward by $30 (as is typically the case with iPads) — though it’s often difficult to even find some storage sizes in stock.

iPad mini (3rd Gen) deals

iPad Mini (5th Gen, 32GB) (medium, Preferred: Amazon)

With its 7.9-inch display, the fifth-generation iPad mini is ideal for tablet users prioritizing a compact form factor. Just like it’s bigger sibling the 2020 iPad, it’s powered by the A12 Chip and is compatible with the first-generation Apple Pencil. It comes in 3 different finishes and you can choose between the smaller 64GB or the larger 256GB storage options.

The iPad mini sees regular deals year-round. Street price hovers around $10 or $20 less than retail price most of the time though, so never settle for paying retail price (unless you absolutely have to).

iPad Pro (4th Gen) deals

iPad Pro (11-inch, Wi-Fi, 256GB) (small, Preferred: Abt)2020 iPad Pro 12.9-inch, 256GB (medium, Preferred: B&H)

The 2020 iPad Pro performs so well, it’s good enough to replace some laptops. On the outside, both the 11- and 12.9-inch have slim bezels, a sharp screen, and are compatible with many great add-ons like the Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard. Internally, it’s a powerhouse; it has a A12X Bionic processor powerful enough to surpass some laptops and is available in up to 1TB of storage if you’re willing to pay a bit extra. It’s expensive, but if you’re looking for the best iPad available, the 2020 iPad Pro is what you’re looking for.

As is typical of most Apple iPads, this model sees regular discounts throughout the year. The best deals on it surface during major holidays like Presidents’ Day, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday, but you can usually find a decent discount any time of year. Street price varies drastically between each screen size and storage variant, but as a rule of thumb: smaller storage variants usually run for $40 less than retail price, so never settle for paying more.

iPad Accessory deals

Compatibility for some accessories will depend on the iPad you own, but for the most part, add-ons like the Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard are game-changing to your tablet usage. You can find many off-brand cases and keyboards for much less (and usually with better deals), but you don’t need to be an Apple aficionado to recognize the beauty of the official Apple accessories.

Discounts for accessories tend to be a bit smaller compared to that of iPads. If you find $10 off an Apple Pencil or $20 off a Magic Keyboard, chances are, it’s a worthwhile deal. It’s just important to make note of each item’s street price, as retail can often be inflated.
