  • You can also rent “Harry Potter” movies without a subscription through VOD retailers like Amazon.

For fans of the “Harry Potter” movie franchise, subscription streaming options are surprisingly hard to track down.

As recently as August 2020, the series was streaming on HBO Max. The franchise then made an appearance on NBC’s Peacock in October 2020, but has since left the service. For the time being, you can watch the movies on-demand via the SyFy channel on live streaming platforms like Sling or Hulu + Live TV. That said, it’s not clear how long the movies will remain on the network.

The popular fantasy films take place in the Harry Potter Universe, where wizards and people without magical abilities (muggles) coexist. Throughout the series, viewers follow the protagonist, Harry, and his two friends, Hermione and Ron, as they progress through their formative years at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Along the way, Harry meets allies and enemies, hones his magic, and unlocks his destiny.

If you’re an existing fan or just someone who wants to watch the movies for the first time, we’ve detailed all the “Harry Potter” streaming options below.

How to watch every ‘Harry Potter’ movie

The “Harry Potter” movies are now available to stream through any service with access to the SyFy channel’s on-demand catalog. That said, the films tend to jump from networks like SyFy to platforms like Peacock and HBO Max on a regular basis. As such, it’s not clear how long you’ll be able watch the movies on SyFy.

Live TV streaming services with access to SyFy include Sling TV, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo TV, and YouTube TV.

The cheapest of the bunch is Sling TV’s Sling Blue plan at $35 a month. The live TV streaming service offers a total of 44 channels. On-demand titles from select networks are available as well, including the “Harry Potter” movies via SyFy’s on-demand selection.

Hulu + Live TV, Fubo TV, and YouTube TV also offer the “Harry Potter” movies via SyFy’s on-demand library, but they’re more expensive than Sling TV. Plans for each service start at $65 a month, though they all offer more live channels than Sling.

Are the ‘Harry Potter’ movies on Peacock or HBO Max?

The “Harry Potter” films have previously been available on services like HBO Max and Peacock, but the movies are not currently streaming on either of those platforms.

Due to existing streaming deals, Vulture suggests that the “Harry Potter” movies may alternate between Peacock and HBO Max regularly through 2025. As of April 2021, it’s unclear when the movies will be back on either service.

How to rent ‘Harry Potter’ movies

In addition to live TV streaming services, fans can also rent or buy every “Harry Potter” film on a per-movie-basis through digital rental services. Some of these services include Amazon, RedBox, FandangoNow, Vudu, Google Play, and iTunes.

Pricing for the series varies by service, but most of the movies start at $4 to rent or $15 to buy.

  • “The Voice” is a singing competition with an all-star panel of coaches.
  • The show’s 20th season airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
  • You can watch “The Voice” on cable or through streaming services, like Peacock and Sling Blue.

Premium (4-Month Plan) (small)

“The Voice” has been a staple of the NBC lineup for nearly 10 years. Now, in its 20th season, the singing competition is back with a new roster of contestants.

The new season kicked off on March 1, and features Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, Nick Jonas, and John Legend as coaches. Like past seasons, the competition begins with the coaches choosing singers for their teams based on blind auditions.

After that, the show will head to the Battles round, which allows coaches to choose two of their singers to face off. If one of the singers wins, they advance to the Knockouts round. Further rounds lead up to a live performance where the final contestants are narrowed down to a winner by a popular vote by viewers.

Here’s how you can follow along with the competition on cable or through live TV streaming services.

How to watch ‘The Voice’

The latest season of “The Voice” premiered on March 1 on NBC. New episodes air Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET. You can watch the show live through cable, over-the-air TV, or streaming services with access to NBC. You can also stream the show through the NBC website or NBC app if you have an authenticated pay-TV account.

Outside of live TV options, on-demand episodes of “The Voice” are available on Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service. New episodes are available the day after they air on TV if you have Peacock Premium ($5/month) or Peacock Premium Plus ($10/month). Select episodes are available for free as well.

New members can currently get four months of Peacock Premium for 50% off.

Premium (Monthly Plan) (small)Premium (4-Month Plan) (small)

If you miss any performances, you can also download “The Voice” app to catch up with videos. And, during the live performances portion of the season, you can use the app to vote for your favorite singers.

Live streaming services with NBC

If you want to watch “The Voice” live on NBC without cable, you have a few different options.

One of the cheapest services with NBC is Sling Blue. This option costs $35 a month, and includes access to your local NBC channel. If you sign up today, you can get $10 off your first month.

You can also watch shows on three different devices with Sling Blue. So if someone wants to watch “The Voice” on one device while other people in your house stream a different channel, it’s totally possible.

Be aware, however, that NBC on Sling Blue is only available in select areas. You can check to see if NBC is available in your area via Sling’s website.

Locast is another option to stream NBC. The app is a non-profit streaming service with local channels like NBC, Fox, ABC, and CBS in 29 markets across the country. Though the service is actually free to use, free streams are interrupted by periodic donation requests unless you pay the $5 a month donation fee.

Unlike the other services on this list, however, Locast only includes local stations and there are no DVR features.

Streaming Subscription (small)

If you’re looking for more channels alongside NBC and you don’t mind paying more, then YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo TV, and AT&T TV are all solid options as well. Prices range from $65 to $70 a month.

Though these services are a lot more expensive than Sling or Peacock, they each feature at least 65 live channels, making them a better choice for people who want a true cable alternative.

Premium (4-Month Plan) (small)

Peacock is one of the cheapest streaming services available, with a free option that includes over 13,000-hours of movies and shows. If you want access to the platform’s full library, however, you’ll have to purchase a Peacock Premium plan. For a limited time, new subscribers can get four months of Peacock Premium for 50% off.

With the deal, members can lock in four months of Peacock Premium for a one-time payment of $10. The plan usually costs $5 a month, which would come out to $20 for four months. The promotion expires on April 9. After the four months are up, your subscription will renew automatically for the regular $5 monthly price, but you can cancel at any time.

The Peacock deal comes at an ideal time for wrestling fans. Starting March 18, Peacock Premium will become the new home for WWE Network content. This includes access to pay-per-view events as part of your subscription. The first WWE PPV events on Peacock will be “Fastlane” on March 21 and “WrestleMania” on April 10.

Comedies from NBC’s past are also available on Peacock Premium. Unlike the free Peacock plan that only offers the first two seasons of “The Office,” Peacock Premium lets you binge-watch every episode. There’s also a number of original shows and classic movies, including the “Harry Potter” series.

New data suggests ‘The Office’ gave a boost to NBCUniversal’s Peacock, but losing the show didn’t hurt Netflix

the office
“The Office”

  • “The Office” left Netflix at the end of 2020 for NBCUniversal’s Peacock.
  • New data from Antenna shows the series gave Peacock a boost in signups.
  • But the data also suggested that the show leaving Netflix didn’t hurt the streaming giant much.
  • Visit the Business section of Insider for more stories.

“The Office” is giving NBCUniversal’s streaming service, Peacock, a boost after the show left Netflix.

But Netflix wasn’t dealt a major blow by the show’s departure.

The hit sitcom, which was consistently one of Netflix’s most popular shows until leaving for Peacock this year, generated more signups to Peacock than when the service launched nationwide in July, according to the analytics company Antenna (it had soft launched for Comcast customers in April).

The show also drove 3.9 times the signups compared to the average December weekend, according to Antenna.

Antenna pulls from a variety of opt-in panels like budgeting apps to track purchase and transaction data. The data excludes signups to Peacock’s free tier.

NBCU declined to comment.

Peacock includes the free, ad-supported tier along with two paid subscriptions tiers: the ad-supported Premium, unlocks all of Peacock’s content, and the ad-free Premium Plus. Peacock saw a 9 percentage point increase in subscriptions to the Premium Plus plan in the first two weeks of January compared to the month of December.

The chart below breaks down the data:

peacock antenna office data

While this data doesn’t include Peacock’s free tier, previous Antenna data from December shed light on the make up of Peacock’s signups.

It showed that Peacock and Apple TV Plus made up just 2% combined of streaming market share in the US. Peacock had 26 million signups at the time and the data suggested the majority of those were free-tier signups since Antenna only accounted for the subscription tiers. Peacock had 33 million signups as of late January, Comcast said during its most recent earnings call.

The absence of “The Office” didn’t seem to hurt Netflix much, however, which has 200 million subscribers worldwide and 67 million in the US. US Netflix subscribers that signed up for Peacock in January showed a 4.7% increase in churn compared to those who didn’t sign up for Peacock. But less than 1% of Netflix subscribers signed up for Peacock in January, according to Antenna, so the overall churn rate wasn’t impacted much.
